Anson County Partnership for Children held the 2009 Week of the Young Child Parade on April 21st at 10 am on South Greene Street in Wadesboro. The theme for the 2009 parade was “Blocks Rock.” Children ages birth through kindergarten, their parents and child care providers participated in this celebration. The parade line up will took place in the Hampton B. Allen Library parking lot beginning at 9:30 am. We encouraged everyone to be creative with blocks by dressing up in your favorite costume and decorating their own “parade floats” using the theme of blocks. No gas powered vehicles were allowed. Awards were given for the best float and best costumes. All children participating in the parade will received a free child’s book.
