What is the Anson County
Partnership for Children?
 Anson County Partnership for Children is a non-profit public/private organization which was formed in 1996 in response to the North Carolina Smart Start initiative. Smart Start's mission is to help ensure that all NC children enter school healthy and ready to succeed. The Partnership is responsible for developing collaborative strategies to meet the needs of children and families in Anson County. These strategies utilize Smart Start state funds and other funding sources to develop: direct services for children and families; parenting education; child care provider training programs; health services; and other services which are needed to help young children and their families.
The Partnership's programs focus on five core areas, customized to meet Anson County's unique needs. These core areas are: Child Care Quality, Child Care Accessibility, Child Care Affordability, Health Care and Family Support.
Smart Start reaches children during the most crucial years of development, with the intent that they arrive at school healthy, motivated and ready to succeed. The goal is to ensure that every child in Anson County has the opportunity for a brighter future. Smart Start brings together all parts of the community -- families, churches, business, nonprofits, local government agencies and schools -- to work together to improve the lives of young children in Anson County.
